🇨🇦 Must-Read Before Visiting Nanaimo!

Oyster freedom in Canada? YES! 🦪😂 This long weekend, we took the kids here—perfect for family fun! ✅ Huge parks ✅ Sand sculptures ✅ Picnics 🧺 ✅ Beachcombing for oysters 🦪 (Check the map! 🗺️) After a picnic and playtime, we timed the low tide and went oyster hunting! ⚠️ Tip 1️⃣ Check the lowest tide time the night before! Oysters are 2-3km out—only accessible at the lowest tide! ⚠️ Tip 2️⃣ Bring waterproof boots! 🥾 The beach has sharp shells 🐚 and shallow water—regular shoes will get soaked. A bucket 🪣 + gloves 🧤 are enough since oysters are right on the sand (just grab the big ones!). ⚠️ Tip 3️⃣ Get a fishing license online ($6)! 🎣 Print it out—12 oysters/person 🦪 (same license works for crabbing later! 🦀). These oysters are HUGE—palm-sized! 🖐️ The beach is covered (kinda gave me trypophobia 😅). We grilled them with garlic & chili—SO sweet & delicious! 🤤 #Beachcombing #Nanaimo #Vancouver #Canada #FamilyFriendly #OysterLover 🏖️✨
