โœจ Day 1 โœจ ๐ŸŒŸ Cannery Row Antique Mall A two-floor antique market with dozens of vendors โ€” everything from furniture ๐Ÿช‘ and tableware to posters and trinkets. Prices are fair, and you can even haggle a bit! ๐Ÿ›๏ธ ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Old Fishermenโ€™s Grotto The coastal path to the restaurant is lovely โ˜๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ โ€” we even spotted sea lions! But the food was just okay. Loved the crab cake ๐Ÿฆ€, and the clam chowder was good (though a bit too cheesy). The ocean view from the window seat was definitely a plus! ๐ŸŒŸ 17-Mile Drive Spanish Bay Beach was gorgeous ๐Ÿ–๏ธ, but the cloudy weather really dampened the views โ€” couldnโ€™t see much from the hilltop lookouts ๐Ÿ˜ข. Highly recommend going on a sunny day! โ˜€๏ธ Also peeked at an Open House in the areaโ€ฆ letโ€™s just say itโ€™s out of my budget ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ˜… ๐Ÿ Portabella Cozy atmosphere and decent Italian food. Not mind-blowing, but a nice experience โ€” in these cute towns, vibe > flavor anyway! ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿท โœจ Day 2 โœจ โ˜• Stationรฆry Matcha latte was great ๐Ÿต, but the brunch was just average โ€” nothing special. ๐ŸŒŸ Carmel-by-the-Sea A must-visit every time! Finally explored furniture stores and galleries in daylight ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ (they close early!). Everythingโ€™s pricey โ€” window shopping only ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ’ธ Found hidden alleys leading to a chocolate shop ๐Ÿซ and even โ€œsecretโ€ gallery back entrancesโ€ฆ Felt like a real-life maze! ๐ŸŒ‰ Big Sur Roadwork caused a 30-min wait ๐Ÿšง, so we just admired Rocky Creek Bridge from afar. Personally prefer the ocean views over the bridge โ€” not sure what the hype is about ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐ŸŒ€ The Mystery Spot A fun spot with tilted rooms and weird angles โ€” like a real-life science museum illusion ๐Ÿงฒ๐Ÿคฏ. Cheap and quirky โ€” worth a quick stop! ๐ŸŒŸ Capitola Beach Another favorite! Relaxed on the pier until sunset ๐Ÿ๏ธ๐ŸŒ…. The town has cute surf-and-swimwear shops โ€” very laid-back vibes ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐ŸŒŸ Shadowbrook Enter from the top of the hill and take a cute cable car ๐Ÿšก or walk down steps to the restaurant. Feels like a mini estate nestled on the slopes โ€” so romantic! Got lost trying to find the restroom and exit ๐Ÿ˜‚โ€ฆ Food is classic American โ€” even the complimentary bread was delicious ๐Ÿž Photos from my phone donโ€™t do it justice โ€” check my previous post for more camera shots! ๐Ÿ“ธ #WeekendGetaway #BayAreaWeekends #Travel #Monterey #Carmel
