A Chicago Irish Restaurant Loaded with Charm 🍀✨
Yesterday I checked out a hidden Irish pub-cafe in downtown Chicago: D4 Irish Pub & Cafe. 📍 The address is a little tricky — entrance at 345 East Ohio Street, near E Grand Ave. I actually found out about this place thanks to my lovely neighbor’s enthusiastic recommendation. She told me the owner is her daughter’s husband’s grandfather (complicated, I know 😂) — an 80+ year-old gentleman. Sadly, I didn’t get to meet him yesterday. 🚪 The moment you walk in, the vibe grabs you — a lively bar area packed with people chatting and drinking. Feels like a great spot just for a drink! We were seated in a book-lined room that felt like a cozy library — quiet and classy. Eating while surrounded by books was a unique experience 📚✨. 🥂 Happy Hour Tip 📆 Mon–Fri, 3pm–6pm 🧾 Wallet-friendly prices, portions perfect for snacking or pairing with drinks. 🍴 Happy Hour picks: 🍕 Margherita Flatbread Pizza Looks great, tastes okay — good if you want something light. 🥙 Short Rib Quesadillas A delicious starter! Tender beef, melted cheese — best when hot and fresh. 🍴 We also ordered: 🥗 D4 Cobb Salad Chicken was crispy, veggies fresh — but eat the chicken while it’s hot or it loses its charm. 🥧 Shepherd’s Pie My favorite — and my neighbor’s too! A classic Irish dish: creamy mashed potatoes over rich beef stew. So comforting and satisfying ❤️ ⚠️ This meal is not light on calories — cheese lovers will rejoice 😂. We left super full — highly recommend a post-meal walk along Navy Pier or the Chicago Riverwalk, just a short stroll away. #ChicagoEats #ChicagoFoodFinds #IrishPub #IrishFood #LifeInChicago #Chicago #LifeInTheUS
