A Little Paris Hidden on the Second Floor ๐ซ๐ท
Always thrilled when a friendโs birthday comes around โ finally a great excuse to feast! ๐๐ฝ๏ธ This time we visited the cozy and charming Petit Pomeroy. Every dish was satisfying โ highly recommend if you want to try French cuisine! ๐ Todayโs Menu: ๐ Escargot ร la Bourguignonne Canโt have French food without snails! Six good-sized snails in a rich garlic-herb butter โ a bit salty but perfect on toasted bread. Texture is tender and springy, almost like squid. ๐ฆข Foie Gras Torchon A must for foie lovers! Silky, no gaminess, melts in your mouth. Served with roasted figs โ the sweet richness is heavenly. ๐ฅ Frisรฉe aux Lardons Salad itself is on the salty side, but the crispy lardons are smoky and delicious. ๐ Short Rib Bourguignon Braised until fall-apart tender in classic red wine sauce โ cozy and comforting. ๐ Risotto aux Champignons Truffle mushroom risotto with strong earthy aroma, perfectly cooked rice, and noticeable goat cheese โ a love-it-or-not combo. ๐ Roasted Chicken Must-order!! Incredibly tender, no poultry taste, skin is glazed and crispy, meat stays juicy โ so good! ๐ง Macaroni au Gratin Added cheesy mac & cheese as a side โ ultra-rich and satisfying. ๐ Key Info: ๐ Petit Pomeroy ๐ 748 N State St, Chicago, IL 60654 ๐ ~$50โ60 per person For my friendโs birthday, they even gave us complimentary sparkling wine ๐ฅ Service was warm and unhurried (they didnโt rush us for photos!). Portions arenโt huge, but prices are very fair for French fare. Four of us left stuffed โ for two people, 3โ4 dishes would be plenty. Got other French restaurant recommendations in Chicago?
