Anti-Gravity Noodles? — Madame Puffs & Thai Bistro 🍜✨
Inspired by a friend’s post about their irresistible taro puffs, I grabbed a buddy and headed over for a Thai-style brunch weekend! 🥥 🍜 Khao Soi Noodles – These are next-level noodles that look like they’re standing up! 🕴️ The top half is crispy-fried and stays upright, while the bottom half stays soft — a fun two-in-one texture experience. The broth is a coconut curry base, but with a strong peanut butter vibe — tastes more like rich, nutty noodles than soup. I added steak (+ 🥩) and it was grilled perfectly tender. Honestly, this bowl looks exactly like the ramen emoji 🍜! 🥘 Green Seafood Curry (Friend’s order) – Love that this place lets you customize: mix and match from 4 curry bases, 5 stir-fry sauces, and plenty of proteins. The green curry was creamy and aromatic, packed with plump, fresh shrimp. Very satisfying! 🥗 Green Papaya Salad – A decent veggie side. Not mind-blowing, but fresh and crunchy. 🥟 The Famous Puffs! – Shaped like empanadas but with a flaky, buttery pastry that crumbles with every bite (just like Chinese durian pastry!). They come in both savory and sweet flavors, and you can grab them to-go from the counter. 🍍 Pineapple Puff – My pick! Warm, fragrant, and filled with glistening caramelized pineapple — absolutely delicious and packed with filling. ⚫ Black Sesame Puff (Friend’s pick) – Had red bean mixed in… an interesting combo, but not my favorite. Maybe choose flavors carefully! Overall, a solid spot — nothing blew me away, but it’s definitely worth a visit for something fresh and fun. 👍 📍 Madame Puffs and Thai Bistro 4825 N Western Ave Unit B, Chicago, IL 60625 #MadamePuffs #ChicagoThaiFood #ThaiBrunch #KhaoSoi #ThaiCurry #FlakyPuffs #ChicagoEats
