Aurora Spanish Fine Dining

Mesón Sabika I went back and forth between 4 and 5 stars — but honestly, the ambiance here is absolutely gorgeous. Worth a visit just for the setting alone ✨. Most dishes were solid. The beef salad had great seasoning — tender beef wrapped in lettuce made it easy for someone like me who can't handle a plate full of plain greens 😅. For hot tapas, we tried mushrooms, scallops, and octopus — all delicious. The octopus was my favorite: not too salty, tender yet bouncy texture 👌. 🥘 The paella, though, was the biggest letdown — and the main reason I hesitated on the rating. The seafood was clearly overcooked — tough and dry. The shellfish, especially the mussels, didn't taste very fresh. Wouldn't recommend. 🍫 Dessert was molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream — solid classic. Could've used a bit more lava flow, but the chocolate was rich and fragrant. Hot chocolate + cold vanilla? Timeless combo 🤤. #ChicagoSuburbs #AuroraFood #SpanishFood #MesónSabika #FineDining #Tapas #Paella
