Bay Area Weekend | Stunning Seaside Crab Cove in East Bay's Alameda

A really large park with BBQ areas, Bayside trails and great views. Visitors center is open and full of great displays and local history. Pretty much all of the bathrooms are closed minus ine port a potty in the parking lot. Lots of signs saying no this and no that, kinda discouraging. But a vast park with nice views and flat trails. A great way to spend some time iutsude.

Ran the Reindeer Run 5k here. Never been to this spot before. What an awesome place to find! Right in the middle of the dog park and a really cute beach area. I loved the atmosphere and the ground is really easy to run on (mostly paved areas without a lot of rocky areas to trip on). Will definitely come again!

Crab Cove in Alameda is such a beautiful and relaxing place to explore, whether you’re visiting with kids, taking a walk, or simply enjoying the ocean breeze. The shoreline here is peaceful, with gentle waves and wide open views of the Bay. At low tide, you can see tide pools filled with small crabs, fish, and other sea life, which makes it an exciting and educational experience for children and nature lovers alike.

The walking paths are well maintained and easy to navigate, perfect for a casual stroll, bike ride, or even just sitting on a bench to soak in the scenery. It’s also a great spot to bring a picnic and enjoy the day outdoors. Families will especially love how safe and welcoming the area feels, and it’s a fantastic way to introduce kids to the natural world without having to go far.

Crab Cove is truly a gem in Alameda — a place where you can learn about marine life, relax by the water, and appreciate the beauty of the Bay Area’s shoreline. Highly recommended for a calm and...

There is always a lot of goose poop on the grassy lawn and the stagnant pond a ways up the walkway always smells terrible enough we hold our breaths and speed up for that 200meter stretch.. lovely otherwise! Picnic tables, Sandy Beach with shallow and typically relativity calm water. There's also a nice community beach toy chest- bring an item to donate or borrow and return. You'll see lots of kite surfers. There's a place to rent stuff near crown memorial (can walk there along shoreline, but that's where that's at). Not a lot of parking here. There are benches. A paved path runs along the waterfront a very long ways. Cute visitor center, runs kids day camps in sunset, but their bathrooms aren't...
