Border Town Near Milan - Chiavenna 🌄

Most people heading north of Milan stop at Lake Como, but if you go a little further, there’s a different kind of surprise waiting for you! 😊 Chiavenna is an important town along Italy’s border and a popular spot for hiking and climbing enthusiasts 🧗‍♂️. But even if you're not into sports, the views from below are still stunning for photos! 📸😁 🚗 Transportation: To get from Milan to Chiavenna, you’ll need to transfer at Colico, with a total journey time of about two hours. Tickets are €9.50, but if you book on Omio, there might be an additional €1 service fee. What to Do: My main destination was the Acquafraggia Waterfall 💦, which has a €3 entry fee and comes with a wristband for re-entry. After getting off the train, you can take Bus #4 from the main station to the waterfall (Borgonuovo Italia); the bus runs once an hour. Since the bus is operated by a Swiss company, the fare is quite high—€3.70 one way.
