One-Day Trip to Lake Como from Milan, Italy ⏰🚤🌿
Lake Como, if you're in Milan, Italy, and have seen enough of religious or historical architecture, come and enjoy the natural scenery of Como ✨Note that Lake Como is geographically shaped like a triangle, with a circle of towns around it that are tourist attractions, connected by boats and buses, with Varenna being the best among them. The town of Como itself is just a transportation hub with no remarkable scenery. In fact, you can travel to and from any town that has a suburban train to Milan. ✨ Recommended Route: Milan Central Station (you can buy tickets directly from the vending machines at the station to Varenna (€7.6 for 1.1H) — Bellagio (15min by boat) - Como (take bus no. 84 for €4 for 1H, the bus stop is right next to Como Lago train station) — Como Lago🚄 back to Milan (the train station has no ticket machines, tickets can only be bought online) 🚢 Boat Ticket Notes: ⚠️ Varenna only sells tickets to Bellagio, not to Como, and the all-day passes are quite expensive. It's recommended to return directly from Bellagio by taking bus no. 84 to Como Lago (you can buy tickets on the APP or directly on the bus at the bus stop; it's busy so it's advised to get on at the first station). ⚠️ Queueing on-site in Varenna in mid-May can take 1.5-2 hours, and the Bellagio ferry terminal is also close to 1 hour (note that there are two ferry terminals here selling different tickets; the one for the Como direction should be terminal no. 2). The on-site staff are not very attentive, and the site management is quite chaotic with slow queues and a lot of line-cutting. Unless you're going to Bellagio, it's not recommended to buy boat tickets; otherwise, the queue will make you question life.
