Milan: Brera Art Gallery ๐จ
The Pinacoteca di Brera was founded by Napoleon in 1809. The admission fee is 15 euros, and they control the number of visitors at a time, which makes for a great visiting experience. The gallery houses many masterpieces from the masters, such as Raphael's "The Marriage of the Virgin," Mantegna's "Lamentation of Christ," and Hayez's "The Kiss," among others. In recent years, I've felt a bit fatigued from visiting art galleries, and I'm less inclined to go straight to the famous works. Instead, I prefer to wander around casually. Among countless treasures, there's always a piece that resonates with me and makes me stop to admire it. Here, I was introduced to the modern Italian painter Morandi and his works. This painter, who was indifferent to fame and had no particular school or style, used only earthy tones of white, green, and brown in his paintings. These colors, with a high degree of gray and low saturation, have a specific name: Morandi Gray. Morandi's paintings are much like his own uncontentious personality: a self-portrait where the face is unclear, yet, from a certain perspective, it possesses the most beautiful, harmonious, and lyrical effects. Love it! ๐ #WesternArtHistory #ArtAppreciation #Artists #Morandi #Italy #TravelInItaly #Milan #BreraAcademyOfFineArts #Europe #MuseumsWorthVisiting #OffTheBeatenPath
