Breathtaking Town Near Milan - Arona 🌅
One of the charming towns along Lake Maggiore’s shores, Arona is mostly frequented by locals from the Lombardy region, with just a few English- and German-speaking tourists—almost no big crowds! It’s a place where you’ll be snapping photos nonstop 📸. A must-visit every summer! Spend a relaxed morning by the lake, enjoy lunch at a lakeside restaurant, and then head up to the mountain for some peaceful, panoramic views until sunset 🌄. Life doesn’t get much better than this! If you’re arriving by train 🚆, you’ll see the lake as soon as you step off. Just walk along the lakefront, and you’ll find the sights. I also highly recommend the tourist train! For ages 10 and above, it’s €10; under 10, it’s €6. The station is a five-minute walk from the train station—just look for the tent on the left side by the lake. Stops include a lakeside station and Sacre Monte (not much to see there), and finally, the mountaintop stop. You can get off at each stop, explore, and then hop back on. The last train runs around 6 p.m. 🚂 If you prefer a city walk, start from the train station and follow the lakeside path all the way down. For a hike up, search for Parco della Rocca Borromea in maps. A brisk walk takes about an hour to reach the top 🥾. If you’re driving 🚗, just set your navigation to Arona, and once you spot the lake, find a place to park. As soon as you step out, you’re surrounded by beautiful views—perfect for photos! Since I come here every year, this time I focused on exploring the mountaintop park. The lake photos are even more stunning! I’ll write another post about taking the ferry from Arona across the lake to Angera and back. #Italy #LakeMaggiore #Milan #ItalyTravel
