Chicago|Birthday Restaurant Roundup 🎂
Another annual birthday restaurant recap — this year we tried three special spots! 📍 Petit Pomeroy Got so happy when we received the custom Birthday Special Menu — personalized with the birthday person's name ✨ French Onion Soup + Baguette – Dipping the baguette in the rich onion soup was heavenly 🧅🍞 Mushroom Risotto – My favorite! Creamy, fragrant, and packed with mushrooms — a must for mushroom lovers 🍄 Half Chicken – Super tender chicken with perfectly seasoned potatoes 😋 Bouillabaisse – Loaded with lobster, scallops, shrimp, mussels, and French toast. The broth was so good I dipped fries in it 😭 Crème Brûlée (complimentary) – Beautifully presented, with a crisp caramel top and silky custard underneath. 📍 London House Perfect for an afternoon tea with friends! Great service — they even offered to take photos from multiple angles 📸 Lychee Green Tea – Smelled amazing but tasted subtle. Complimentary special drink – Even better than the tea (should be on the menu!). Pastry & Cookie Basket – Almost filled us up before the meal! Not overly sweet — the highest Chinese compliment for desserts 😌 Almost everything was delicious except the vegetarian "crab cake" (made of mushrooms). 📍 Gibsons Italia Stunning views, but tricky for photos due to bright lights reflecting from downstairs 🏙️✨ Acquerello Arancini Cacio e Pepe – Loved these cheesy risotto balls! Octopus Appetizer – Tender, not bitter or dry — cleared the plate quickly 🐙 Bread Basket – Not the highlight; skip if you want to save room. #BirthdayDinner #ChicagoEats #FrenchFood #HiddenGems #DateNight #ChicagoFoodie
