Chicago|French Restaurant Petit Pomeroy – Highly Recommend! 🥖✨
🔥 TL;DR: Delicious, affordable, and totally worth it! 🔥 I hadn’t tried much French food in Chicago until I heard about this spot. It hasn’t been open long and was participating in Restaurant Week, so I decided to give it a try. I checked the Restaurant Week menu but didn’t find it super cost-effective (and honestly, I wanted to avoid goat cheese in the risotto 😅), so I went with the regular menu — and it was the right choice! 😊 Here’s what we ordered: 🐌 Escargots à la Bourguignonne – Tender snails with a hint of garlic. Perfect with bread for dipping! 🐤 Chicken Liver Mousse – The mousse paired with toasted bread was amazing! The bread was lightly charred and aromatic. We finished the first serving quickly, and the server kindly brought us five more pieces — great service! 👌 🦞 Lobster Risotto (Monday Special) – Made sure there was no goat cheese in this one 😂. First bite and I knew — this was the star of the night! Savory, rich with lobster flavor, and a subtle hint of tomato acidity. Not overly cheesy, which was a delightful surprise! The lobster was fresh and tender, and the portion was generous. Highly recommend, especially if you love Chinese-friendly flavors! 😋 🥘 Bouillabaisse – Packed with mussels, lobster, scallops, and shrimp, served with a big piece of bread (free refills available!). My favorite was the scallops — so smooth and flavorful! We visited on a Monday night, and the restaurant was completely full — definitely popular! The ambiance and decor were lovely too. 🥰 And yes — we even got two complimentary macarons at the end, which were delicious! 😋 📍 Address: 748 N State St, Chicago, IL 60654 🅿️ Parking: Plenty of street parking nearby on weekday evenings. 👋 Hi, I’m Cotton Candy 🍬 — your new Chicago-based food explorer!
