Chicago|Goosefoot — Autumn Menu 🍂

Amazing value! Autumn is perfect for soups, and the chef absolutely excels—the opening mushroom soup, coconut lobster broth, and autumn soup instantly won me over. Flavor-wise, this feels like the closest Chicago one-star gets to two-star level. A few dishes were even better than Oriole’s summer menu this year (except their strawberry foie gras—that’s unbeatable 😉). The loin and Angus beef that followed were both delicious and distinct, though having two beef courses in a row was a bit heavy—could’ve used some veggies to cut through. Portions here are noticeably generous compared to other fine-dining spots. Desserts were just okay (even borderline bad), but I don’t mind—not a big sweets person anyway.😂🙌 Service was decent but short-staffed, and cutlery was pre-set. Water wasn’t great either, but I didn’t care much. A big plus: BYOW (bring your own wine) with only a $10 corkage fee per person—very reasonable. The final bill includes service fee, so no extra tip needed. Two people for under $500.😘👍 This was the first tasting menu I’ve had that started with a main course, lol—but the flavors were so pleasantly surprising, I’d rate it a 9/10. Don’t miss their autumn menu! #ChicagoEats #MichelinStar #Goosefoot #AutumnMenu #SoupSeason #FineDining #FoodReview
