Chicago|Mom’s Brunch Pop-up 🍳🥪
Previously tried Mom’s bento pop-up and was a bit let down — but when I saw they were doing a brunch pop-up (and fundraising for nonprofit ICIRR), I drove in from the suburbs last weekend to give it another shot. This time was much better! 🍚 Kimchi Spam Fried Rice topped with a sunny-side-up egg, nori strips, sesame seeds, and scallions — every bite was carb-loaded, guilty pleasure. Looked similar to other kimchi fried rice, but somehow just tasted more fragrant. 🍚 Breakfast Sandwich – Seemed basic, but was delicious. Besides bacon and egg, it had Japanese-style pickles inside — sweet-spicy and appetite-whetting. 🍚 Pumpkin Chai Tiramisu – Really tasted like pumpkin and chai — creamy, cozy, and very autumnal. Breakfast started at 10 AM; I arrived at 10:20 and the line already wrapped around the shop. Sadly, the bonito cheese sandwich, black sesame donut, and pineapple muffin were all sold out — they go fast! Follow them on IG for updates on the next pop-up. #SummerFoodieCat 🐱 #ChicagoLife #Chicago #ChicagoEats #ExploreChicago
