Chicago|NOMONOMO 🍢
Just got off the plane and nearly melted in the heat, then got stuck in traffic on the way home — ended up taking the Blue Line instead. Passing by so many tempting spots, I craved cold udon and found NOMONOMO had it, so I dragged my luggage clunk-clunk right over 🧳. The cold udon was a bit salty, but the skewers were a pleasant surprise! As an offal lover, I was a bit disappointed seeing only basic skewers on the menu — but I asked the server about organ meats. At first she said they only have special cuts on weekends, but after checking with the kitchen, they had some today 🎉. 🐔 Chicken Liver – So tender! I didn’t expect much since chicken liver can get dry and chalky, but this was juicy and perfectly cooked — even topped my usual favorite, chicken heart. ❤️ Chicken Heart – My all-time favorite since school days. Ordered two to show my love 😆. Juicy, bouncy, chewy — cleaned well with no weird bits. Overall, the menu feels authentically Japanese (they even have grilled rice balls and mixed rice porridge). Skewers are good value — wish it weren’t so far from home, I’d go more often.
