Chicago|ROOP|🇮🇳 Indian “Pretty Food” – Clean & Tasty 😌

🍴 ROOP 📍 736 W Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60661 My first time trying creative Indian cuisine — didn’t want to overthink, so we went with the Chef’s Tasting Menu (swipe 👀 for menu — 4 courses). 🍽️ Course One Crispy outer shell filled with cool yogurt mousse, spicy-salty potatoes, and something meaty(?) — nicely layered. 🍽️ Course Two Crab cake fried like a meatball, served with curry that had a coconut milk touch — almost tasted like Thai red curry 🧐 A bit too salty for us (no rice or bread to balance 😣). 🍽️ Course Three The famous Butter Chicken 🤩 — paired with basmati rice and garlic naan 🫓 Who doesn’t love naan as a carb lover? The chicken was tender, and dipping naan into curry is always a win 🥰 🍽️ Course Four Jasmine mousse — my husband took one bite and said, “Tastes like eating soap!” 😂 Accurate description, tbh. Also tried Masala Chai — any fellow Lay’s Josh fans here? 🙋 Served in a teapot + cup — very ceremonial, Brahmin vibes 😎 More tea-forward, less milky — pretty good, though portion is large for 1–2 people. Overall: Decent, okay. Great for Indian food lovers wanting a creative twist, but we probably won’t return soon. Came to about $100 per person — a bit pricey for the flavors, though ambiance was alright. Afterward, strolled down Randolph Street, soaked in the lively crowd — just another happy day in the city 😝 #ChicagoEats #ChicagoLife #ExploreChicago #IndianFood #CreativeIndian #PrettyFood
