Chicago｜Super Huge Donuts — Dat Donut 🍩

Regular followers know I’m not usually into overly American-style sweets, but recently I found an exception: Dat Donut. Originally from Chicago’s South Side, they recently opened a location up north. I spotted it getting off the Brown Line and grabbed a couple to try — and they were surprisingly good! 🍩 The signature giant donut — honestly, I just admired it visually. It’s more of an office party treat — compared to other donuts in the case, you can really see how massive it is. 🍩 Caramel Glazed Donut – Unlike some places where the glaze feels like a sugary shell stuck on top, here it feels like part of the donut itself. The dough is pleasantly chewy, like an old-fashioned bread texture. Still sweet, though — best paired with coffee. 🍩 But the best is the Pineapple Glazed Donut – So far, my absolute favorite! Sweet-tart and not cloying like traditional flavors — highly recommend. Of course, a disclaimer: as good as it is, it’s still a donut.
