Chicago|The Hidden Steakhouse with the BEST Risotto in Town! 🥰

Kinzie Chophouse — a fine dining steak spot where, honestly, the appetizers stole the show for me! The vibe and service are great, perfect for a date night or small gathering. 🍞 Beef Tartare As a tartare lover, this one really delivered! Fresh minced beef mixed with a savory, slightly cheesy sauce, served on crispy-soft toasted bread. Highly recommend! 🐷 Pork Belly Like a Western take on hongshao rou (braised pork belly)! Thick, well-marbled pork that’s flavorful but not greasy, glazed in a sweet, sticky sauce with a few herbal-ish dried fruits. I loved it — though personal preference applies 😉. 🍝 Asparagus Risotto + Shrimp Their risotto is better than many Spanish restaurants I’ve tried — totally my style! Cheesy, creamy, with a hint of tanginess, tender-crisp asparagus, fresh basil, and a juicy shrimp. You could skip the steak, but don’t skip this risotto! 🍖 Lamb Chops Generous portion, but sadly underwhelming. Not very flavorful, a bit gamey, and no special sauce to lift it. Had high hopes, but wouldn’t order again. 🥩 16oz New York Strip Finally, the star… or so I thought. Ordered medium-rare (maybe should’ve gone rare). Juicy and tender, but at $60, not the best value — reminded me of Texas Roadhouse. They offer nearly 10 sauce options; we picked a cheesy one — decent! Fine for a date, but nothing extraordinary. 🌟 Wrap-up: Portions are big! For two, one appetizer + the risotto + one steak is plenty. Even though it’s a steakhouse, the risotto is the real star — high value and deliciously surprising. I had an Espresso Martini — so good! Rich coffee flavor with a smooth boozy kick ☕🍸. 📍 Kinzie Chophouse 400 N Wells St, Chicago, IL 60654 #ChicagoEats #Steakhouse #RisottoLove #DateNightChicago #FineDining #ChicagoFoodie
