This is the worst meal I’ve ever had in Chicago. So much so, I feel compelled to write my first Yelp review. To start off, service was horrible. Our waiter ignored us for way too long till we finally had to call and get his attention. We ordered the rosemary brioche which was dry and felt like it had been waiting for quite some time before serving. The next dish we ordered was the pork belly which was extremely salty, barely edible, and it was absolutely overcooked and hard to bite and swallow. For our entrees, I ordered the drunken wagyu. It was the worst tasting steak I have ever had. It was not cooked well, I ordered it medium and it barely felt raw. It was cut up for me which I had never seen. My four cheese Mac and cheese was HORRIBLE, the top cheese was hard and I had to cut it with a knife. It looked like it had been prepared 30 minutes ago, the inside wasn’t even hot. We also ordered the truffle butter lobster, and it was prepared horribly. It tasted funky, wasn’t cooked right, the presentation was horrible, and my fiancée had to throw up later in the night. When we complained to the manager (extremely difficult to do because I had never had to be a Karen before), the manager immediately got defensive and told us in a very condescending way “so I heard you didn’t like it.” We said it was more than that, but he just said that’s the way it was and he couldn’t do anything about it. Overall, extremely horrible and I strongly encourage you to not ever visit this place, there are too many good steakhouses in Chicago and spending your time here is an absolute waste of time and money. I feel robbed.

I decided to take a tour of Chicago steak houses for my birthday, because why not. I chose Kinze because it is woman owned and I was interested in the menu. I will say it was the most regretful $200 I have ever spent. I ordered the avocado tuna tartar, it was good but basic, nothing jumped out as "omg this is great!" But it was satisfying; I then had the rack of lamb with a feta crusted potato(sounds good right?) and a side of creamed spinach. I am so UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED in the lamb entree, it was literally just pan seared meat....no flavor other than meat and a potato that was half done but nothing else other than potato....no butter, no salt, no nothing, no love. The reduction was loose with no flavor and I had no tomatoes, olives or capers as described on the menu. The creamed spinach was very good. Nonetheless, the waiter was nice and friendly and even took it back to bring me a new plate, unfortunately it was not any better. The meal seemed rushed and again unloved, but the rushed part amazes me since I was the only person in the restaurant. One thing i will say is that whenever I have been to restaurants that I am planning to drop some cash at, including steak houses, I'm always asked my choice of water, dude just poured the water n left and I had to ask twice for sparkling, I know that is a very minor detail but it did bug me a bit. Overall, it is sad to say it was just so so disappointing 😞

My boyfriend and I just recently went here for dinner on New Years Eve. Our reservation was for 10pm. We choose a later time so we could be somewhere for New Years. When we arrived we were told it was a 45 minute wait and asked if that was ok, which we said was fine. We didn't really have any other choice. She said we could go sit at the bar and they will find us when the table was ready. I also asked if they had my phone number too and she said yes. We waited 90 minutes and I went to go check-in again. They had lost our reservation. I had requested a table not at the bar and since they lost our reservation we were sat at a table next to the bar. The hostess had zero remorse for losing the reservation she even giggled. We did not find this funny. We are finally sat around 11:30pm and to our surprise the bar tender was our server. The bar had calmed down but he was still busy making drinks for the whole restaurant. We put in our food order and didn't even eat till 12:30am. When we were done eating they had asked if we would like a desert and we asked to see the menu. 15 minutes went by till a manager came by asking if we wanted something. I told him we were waiting for our server to come back. He said he could take care of it. I was going to hold my tongue till the manager also acted with zero remorse. I explained to him how we waited 90 minutes for a table, to find out the reservation was lost, your hostess had zero remorse and to top it off we were seated in the bar. I told him we will never be back again. His response was "That's ok, I understand." He proceeded to give me excuses and I stopped him telling him I did not care. You have shown zero remorse for losing our reservation anything you tell me I simply do not care. Now he starts talking to my boyfriend as if I am not there asking him what he can do. I then chimed in again and told him if he wanted to comp us a drink we would take another round. His response was "I will bring you a glass of prosecco." The prosecco was what they handed to everyone for free at midnight. The manager walks away and I run to the bathroom. When I get back he is talking to my boyfriend and explaining what happened that night while I was away. As I approached the table he walked away. My boyfriend made the comment that he was acting like we were good cop and bad cop. We finally leave at 1:30am. We spent from 10pm-1:30am in this establishment and I will never go back again. I understand New Year's is a busy day but you have to show that you care about your customers. We were not even upset having waited 90 minutes. Losing the reservation and not being apologetic is what made us upset. We did not want to sit in the bar hence why we waited 90 minutes. Which sitting in the bar is not a huge deal but had they apologized I wouldn't be writing this review. We go out to dinner quite often, I am an EA who plans many exec and corporate dinners and we have friends and family who visit Chicago often. I will never suggest going...

I aways order a lot of food because I want to taste everything. For the Appetizers I had King Scallops (they come raw but I had them cook mine) was delicious, Beef Tartare, and pork Belly. Dinner I ordered Lamb Chops, Delmonico (ribeye cut), Asparagus and Mac & Cheese and a few drinks. The problem: they mix my steak up with my friends mother steak. She ordered medium, I ordered medium well. I started with the Lamb chops so not really giving it two thoughts at that moment. However, when I got to my steak the outer part was cooked medium well but the center was medium rare. (I did eat some of the steak up to the point i saw a the red) I called the waiter over and told him I think the mix our steak up I asked for medium well she asked for medium. He told me it looks perfectly fine to him. What? I said you can clearly see the blood medium well supposed to be a slight pink. He stood there and said nothing. I asked for the manager. The manager recognized the mistake However he took that steak put it on the grill and brought it back out to me and now it's over cooked. What? (I can list a bunch of steak restaurants I thought they were equivalent to until that moment). I call the manager over again I asked for a new steak or to have it removed from my bill. He tells me no I'm trying to get out of paying my bill. What? I never said I wasn't going to pay my bill, I asked for a new steak or have that one item removed. He left the table and refused to come back told the waiter to tell us he's not talking to us. So I said ok I'll wait went to the other side (the bar) ordered me a drink (12 year Macallan (which was $37 with tax)). So while I'm drinking my Macallan my friend ordered her mother an uber. HER NOT OUR UBER comes, I'm sitting at the table drinking my $37 dollar drink that I had already paid for at the bar. The MANAGER stood in the door way and told her she can't leave. My friend say I'm paying for her meal what are you talking about. He would not move my friend had to push though him so her mother can get her uber. And of course she returned her purse was at the table I was still at the table with my credit card actually sitting on the table. It was only until my friend went live on Facebook and started explaining what was going on is when he decided to take the steak off the bill. Our bill was still over $500 without the steak. The manager totally handled the situation badly and I would never go or...

TLDR - there’s plenty of nice fine dining establishments in the area, go to any of those over this one

This was our 7 year anniversary dinner and we made that known during our reservation that we placed 2 weeks in advance. Our reservation was for 7:15. When we arrived we were told it would be about 10 minutes for our table to be ready. They asked us to stand outside. I checked in every 10 minutes and was continuously being met with rude remarks to wait outside. After my 3rd time checking at 7:50 they finally sat us down.

When we were met for our drink order we said we would each have a cocktail first and then share a bottle of wine. The waiter brought out drinks along with a wine menu. We selected a $50 bottle from the menu. Once we received our check they charged us $80 for the bottle. When pointing it out on the menu the manager said the waiter should not have used that menu and instead we should have used the digital menu. He placed all the blame on the waiter and took no accountability of giving us a physical wine menu with pricing. The manager refused to refund us the $30 but said he would give us a round of drinks.

We asked for an aperol spritz and an espresso martini. They brought us an apple martini and a shot of espresso even after correcting the restaurant manger that would like the aperol spritz (not apple martini) and a espresso martini (not an espresso shot).

The food overall was good. The steaks were Brought to our table mixed up and they gave us the wrong sides (and charged us for the wrong sides). The guest that was with us received halibut that was completely cold.

The bathrooms were disgusting. The toilets were missing the backs. Overall cleanliness was just below average

Our waiter was super nice. It was obvious he was aware of the entire situation and was nervous when serving us but we still tipped 20% because overall these felt like poor management issues than anything else. On the way out he thanked us for the gratuity but kept apologizing for everything.

Overall, pretty decent food but awful customer service. The restaurant refused to comp anything on the bill (the mispriced wine and the wrong sides). Instead he kept blaming the server but refused to help us out. The straight disrespect from the manager and hosting staff after all of these mistakes really just ruined the night. There’s many other steakhouses in the area and I’d recommend all of them...
