Chicago | Last Two Days of Restaurant Week — Run to This Spot! 🏃♀️
A classic English pub-style restaurant that’s consistently excellent and precise 💯. It does wonders for the often-underwhelming reputation of British cuisine — thoughtful details, cozy yet refined atmosphere. They’re seriously generous for Restaurant Week 👍🏻 You can choose their signature Scotch Egg — the starters are stunning, desserts delightful, mains reliable (if not mind-blowing). This $25 lunch is absolutely worth it. Only two days left — book now! Before or after your meal, pop across the street to the Art Institute of Chicago for some culture 🖼️. Hope you all have a lovely weekend! ✨ Starters (the stars!) Scotch Egg: A must-order! Sausage-wrapped soft-boiled egg, crispy outside, served with apple mustard sauce — so good! Shrimp Toast: Fresh shrimp with dill-lemon aioli — light yet flavorful, loved it! ✨ Mains Both are solid but not as exciting as the starters/desserts. If I had to choose — go for the curry. Butter Chicken Curry: Tender chicken in rich South Asian-style curry, served with fragrant rice and sweet potato — very comforting. Steak Frites: Steak is reliable, but fries could be crispier. ✨ Desserts Both are excellent — but Eton Mess wins! Eton Mess: Yogurt meringue with lemon curd and yogurt ice cream — tangy, sweet, refreshing! Chocolate Caramel Cake: Mousse-like texture with salted caramel sauce — rich and chocolatey. ⭐️ Verdict: Incredible value for Restaurant Week lunch! ⭐️ Ambiance: Classic British pub vibe — refined yet relaxed. ⭐️ Service: Impeccable. ⭐️ Bonus: If you visit normally, try their Fish & Chips (so good!) or their rare Venison Burger! 📍 The Gage ✨ Thanks to everyone who enjoys my food notes 📒 ✨ All reviews are personal opinions ✨ All photos and text are original #ChicagoRestaurantWeek #100RestaurantChallenge #ChicagoEats #ChicagoLife #USA
