Chicago | Silver Spoon 🇹🇭

A Thai restaurant right next to the Thai Consulate Descending the stairs from Rush St Reminds me of those small eateries beside consulates in Shanghai And Chicago’s six feet raised from the swamp 1️⃣ Mango Sticky Rice Thick coconut sauce with a touch of starch, sweet mango, sticky rice—just wish there was more! 😋 2️⃣ Nang Gai Tod – Fried Chicken Skin Already well-seasoned and crispy on its own. The sweet chili dip can get a bit heavy—feels like it’d pair better with something tangy like Sawsawan 🍋‍🟩 or Ponzu for a fresher bite. 3️⃣ Nam Tok – Grilled Beef with Toasted Rice Different from Tiger Cry steak, this uses thinly sliced beef, possibly boiled then seared. The lime-fish sauce toasted rice seasoning also works great as a dip for the chicken skin! 4️⃣ Char Siu Thai Fried Rice Classic Thai-style fried rice, slightly moist, with big chunks of char siu. Generous portion! 5️⃣ Chicken Tom Yum Soup Small size is perfect for two to share a taste. Also makes a nice dip for the chicken skin 🍲. 6️⃣ Thai Iced Tea – authentic & rich | Thai Lime Tea – refreshing & zesty 7️⃣ Yum Nue Menu says grilled beef with onion, tomato, cucumber—different from Nam Tok. Our server accidentally sent this over. Listed as “grilled,” but came out boiled, no Maillard reaction 🤷‍♂️. 🌞 Open until 6 AM – perfect for late-night bites or sunrise breakfast! 📍 Silver Spoon Thai Restaurant 710 N Rush St, Chicago, IL 60611 #ChicagoLife #ChicagoFood #ChicagoEats #ChicagoThaiFood #LateNightEats #ConsulateEats
