Chicago | Who's the Lucky Little Cat That Got to Drink at Lucky Cat?

Oh, it's me~ 😸 I previously wrote about their pop-up when they were still working out of Boonie's counter, serving coffee to brunch-goers every weekend. I've been dreaming about their Black Sesame Latte since I first tried it, so of course I had to come support them now that they've opened their own shop! ā˜•ļø Fig. 1 & 2: Both are Black Sesame Lattes—one hot, one iced. As always, it’s very Asian-inspired and not overly sweet like Kasama’s version. Instead, you can truly taste the rich, toasty flavor of black sesame. šŸ”„ ā˜•ļø Fig. 3: Coconut Cloud Cold Brew. A perfect blend of Kyoto-style cold brew and rich coconut cream foam. The first sip feels like biting into a fluffy coconut-flavored cloud, followed by the smooth aroma of coffee. ā˜ļøšŸƒ ā˜•ļø Fig. 4: Sweet Bloom Matcha Latte. This is a classic matcha latte with honey and osmanthus flowers added. However, it seems like there might be some inconsistency in preparation—some cups come topped with dried osmanthus, while others don’t. Not sure if they just forgot during busy times, but it’s worth noting! šŸµšŸŒø ā˜•ļø Fig. 5: Miso Latte. A unique drink with a delicate balance of savory and sweet notes. ā˜•ļø I’ve visited three times so far, and while the pastries didn’t particularly catch my eye, the Fig. 7 & 8 pudding and cheese desserts in the fridge look delicious—definitely trying those next time! The shop also offers light meals, including surprisingly, three-cup chicken (?) šŸ—. They also sell bags of coffee beans, including some sourced from China, as well as a special blend called "Cat Mix" (?). If you’re curious, be sure to check it out! The shop is located right next to the popular Tuk Tuk Thai. Lucky Cat: 2806 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60657 Have you visited Lucky Cat yet?
