Chicago Feld Experience 🍽️

Last year for my partner’s birthday, they mentioned wanting to try fine dining next time — so this year I made it happen! As a total newbie to fine dining, I randomly stumbled upon Feld’s reservation ad online. We usually forget to take photos while eating, but here are the few I remembered to snap. The number of courses felt endless — I left pretty full! Some dishes were delicious, others… pretty strange.👌😊 It’s very vegetable-forward with a strong farm-to-table vibe. 🍷 Pairing tip: Go for the drink pairing — either wine or non-alcoholic. Some dishes that were just okay on their own really shined when paired! After the meal, we chatted with the chef in the backyard 🍃. He shared that they just opened in late June last year, and the menu changes daily — not entirely, but based on seasonality and what’s available from local farms. The chef’s focus isn’t on himself, but on telling the story of the ingredients and the land. He knew he wanted to be a chef since age 7 and has worked in top restaurants around the world. (Meanwhile, I can’t even remember what I wanted to be at 7 😅) Overall, experienced fine diners might not be blown away, but it’s a nice spot for beginners, veggie lovers, or those just looking for a unique experience. #Foodie #ChicagoEats #FineDining #FarmToTable #ChicagoLife #ChicagoFoodFinds #TastingMenu
