Chicago Food Diary 🍚 | Found My All-Time Favorite Braised Pork Rice!!

「ChicagoFoodDiary」03 🌰 I’ve tried braised pork rice at various Taiwanese spots in NYC and Chicago before — but finally found one that really hits the spot! Big portions, affordable prices, and their fruit tea & milk tea are delicious too 🫰 We ordered: 🍚 Braised Pork Rice 🍗 Popcorn Chicken 🍢 Pig's Blood Cake 🧋 Jasmine Pearl Milk Tea 🍹 Grapefruit Lychee Fruit Tea ➕ Free fried chicken (with $30+ order) 🍚 Braised Pork Rice 🤍 Pork lovers, don’t miss this bowl! Loaded with meat — fatty and lean balanced perfectly, not greasy at all. Sauce is slightly sweet, not too salty (perfect for someone like me who prefers lighter flavors). Comes with a mini sausage, a braised egg, and pickled veggies — refreshing and tangy. So good it almost brought tears to my eyes 🥲 🍗 Popcorn Chicken Crispy, not oily, sprinkled with fragrant chili powder — couldn’t stop eating it! 🍢 Pig's Blood Cake Ordered out of curiosity — it’s actually glutinous rice inside, kind of like Korean sundae? No weird taste, but it’s definitely a love-it-or-hate-it snack. 🧋🍹 Drinks were both great — and we got a free fried chicken with our order over $30! Left completely stuffed… literally waddled out 😂 Owner was super nice — not sure how “authentic” it is, but we left very satisfied 😌 Will definitely be back to try more dishes! 📍 Hello Jasmine 2026 S Clark St unit c, Chicago, IL 60616 #StudentEats #FoodAdventure #TaiwaneseFood #BraisedPorkRice #ChicagoLife #ChicagoEats
