Chicago Has Its Own Egg Tuck — And It’s Way Better 🥚✨
Besides their famous donuts and fried chicken sandwiches, Do-Rite Donuts also has a surprisingly good egg sandwich. Was starving and passed by Do-Rite — ordered an American egg sandwich. Waited about 10 mins — made fresh, piping hot.👌😁 Opened the wrapper and — for a $6 breakfast sandwich — didn’t expect it to be this hefty. The egg layer was thick, and when I bit in, it turned out to be a layered omelet!! Soft, fluffy, with that perfect eggy texture, plus a slice of cheese. You can add bacon or avocado too. 📍 I went to the Streeterville location — tiny, unassuming storefront, but customers kept coming in nonstop. Either grabbing a dozen donuts or ordering a sandwich. Felt like mostly nearby office workers and students. While I was sitting there eating, two older ladies asked what I ordered — said they’d try it next time 😂 🍩 When I first moved to Chicago, I’d already heard of Do-Rite Donuts. The founder used to be a Michelin-starred chef before starting a few brands. I’ve had their donuts before — the signature is probably the bacon-topped sweet-savory glazed donut. Chocolate ones are good too… just haven’t bought donuts from them in a while. #ChicagoEats #ChicagoLife #EggSandwich #BreakfastSandwich #ChicagoFoodie 🥚🥓
