The Drifter — Chicago’s Most “Mysterious” Bar Hidden underground beneath The Green Door Tavern, this speakeasy-style spot feels like an escape room adventure from the moment you arrive. First, find the bar upstairs inside the Tavern, head to the staircase, go down, and look for a display cabinet on your right — don’t walk past it! Push the “secret door” and a host will greet you inside. ⚠️ Waitlist tip: The space is small and super popular, so expect a wait! You can hang out upstairs at The Green Door Tavern until they call you. But note: Drinks ordered upstairs cannot be taken into The Drifter — they’re separately run. We sadly had to leave our nearly full drinks behind! 🥲 🎭 The Drifter’s signature feature: Burlesque/strip shows! Around 10 PM nightly, performers take the stage (we saw Las Vegas-style and Indian-inspired acts).
