Chicago Pilsen Food Adventure | Mexican Food is So Good‼️ 🇲🇽

Pilsen is basically a full-on Mexican neighborhood — packed with amazing eats! (When your boyfriend’s Mexican, you end up eating tacos constantly — not complaining though, cilantro lovers rejoice!!) 🌮️ Taqueria Los Comales 📍 1544 W 18th St, Chicago, IL 60608 Three visits already — their tacos rarely disappoint. Recommended: steak, pork, beef tongue. If you’ve got strong teeth, try the beef tripe (more like crispy fried small intestine — greasy and fragrant!). Fish taco was just okay. 🥤 Drink: Horchata — a traditional rice-cinnamon drink — highly recommended! 🌮️ Taqueria El Mezquite 📍 1756 W 18th St, Chicago, IL 60608 Ate on the patio at night — and hey, this place is BYOB!!! My boyfriend (the Mexican expert 😎) said flavors are authentic but a bit salty — seriously salty. We ordered mole con pollo — chicken leg with mole sauce. Every restaurant’s mole is different — here it’s more spiced, less chocolatey. Also tried enchiladas with rojas sauce (red sauce) — basically chicken tacos topped with tomato-based sauce — pretty tasty! 🌮️ Rabanitos Restaurante & Taqueria 📍 1758 W 18th St, Chicago, IL 60608 Right next to the one above. Honestly… kinda disappointing 😅. The pork taco was too sweet, and they skimped on cilantro. Appetizer: ceviche verde — seafood and avocado sauce both felt watery. Only plus is the nicer decor — so far, the best Mexican food seems to hide in no-frills spots. #PilsenChicago #MexicanFood #TacoTour #ChicagoEats #BYOB #HiddenGems 🌮🍹🔥
