Chicago Restaurant Week: RPM Seafood
Caught the tail end of Restaurant Week and tried RPM Seafood today! π Reservations were made on Tock with a $50 deposit. π The atmosphere was noisier than expected β probably because dine-in is fully open now, and it was a Saturday night. Still, social distancing was well maintained. π₯ Beyond the RW menu, we ordered West Coast oysters π¦ͺ. They were a bit small for this season but tasted fresh. One oyster was empty, so we asked the waiter to replace it β no problem. π₯ Appetizer: The Ceviche was a bit too tangy and not particularly special. The giant bowl of ice it came with wasβ¦ surprising! π² Main Course: The Cod was tender and perfectly cooked β a nice balance of teriyaki flavor and lemon zest, topped with sweet-salty dried seaweed. Definitely worth trying! Dessert: A peanut butter mini cake β rich and creamy with sweet-salty peanut pieces, though it got a bit heavy after a few bites. π We had a 5 PM reservation, arrived at 5:05 PM, and waited briefly to be seated. The server who introduced the menu was later swapped out for a quieter, soft-spoken teammate. Service felt a bit lacking β no real highlights of their signature dishes or RW specials were shared. π° The RW menu was $55 per person, plus 6 oysters for $18. After tax and tip, it came to around $150 total. Overall, an okay experience β not mind-blowing, but decent! #ChicagoRestaurantWeek #RPMSeafood #SeafoodLovers #DiningOut #ChicagoEats #FoodReview
