Of course, my experience and opinion don't affect your standards. But remember that many negative reviews over time affect your standards. And if you don't provide good customer service, your standards will drop.
The importance of going to college is paramount, and this is a prime example. I'm responding this way. 🤯 I don't recommend this restaurant; that's why I went and didn't write a review. But since I got this response, I'll post it here so anyone who goes to this restaurant knows the truth. All the servers are young people who study and work, which is why it's better for them to work and not pay customer service professionals. When I arrived at the restaurant, I had to wait 30 minutes despite having a reservation. That's where it all started. If you don't believe me, go check it out. The girls at the front desk are very rude, like everyone else at that restaurant. The truth is, I went for the view, since that restaurant isn't even among the best in Chicago. By the way, speaking of the best restaurants, I have another one to recommend: Steak 48, where they provide friendly service, quality food, and a great location. And if you still want another recommendation, there's also Bar Mar, one of the best restaurants in Chicago for quality food and customer service. Well, we continue. After 30 minutes, we were notified that our table was ready. I was served by a girl named Sara, with whom I ordered appetizers, and we spoke in English the whole time. My only question was if they spoke Spanish. I'm Latina, but I've been living here for 10 years, and I always love to speak Spanish even though I know four languages. 😵💫 And you mention communication problems? Hahaha 🤣 You made me laugh 🤭 I just asked. By the way, no one speaks Spanish, so I'm worried about Latinos who want to visit and can't communicate. Will they kick them out? So, is the restaurant racist? I don't know, that's what she said in her response. Well, we continued after receiving the starters, he ordered dinner and, surprise, divine 20 minutes later, they told me there was no meat, they ran out 😧😬 I told him what kind of meat there was and he told me they had to go look for another place which would take 30 more minutes or maybe an hour and that it would be better if I ordered something else from the menu 😵 I politely told him in English because the service was always in English that I did not want anything for him to give me the bill. After 5 minutes, a supposed manager or supervisor arrived. He did not have any name on his shirt so I did not know who he was talking to, so anyone like that pretends to be a manager and they are not. He tried to convince me of the meat and I said ok, bring me the same one I ordered and it was never like that. She brought me another meat and I stopped talking to her and I didn't continue talking to anyone else because they thought I didn't know about meat when every week I go to a different restaurant 🫨 The time has come to respond to the answer you gave me 🥴 whoever wrote the screenshot I published is a puppet who must do what they are told, but I don't because I am my boss and there is a difference in level as you said 😐 and if it's true I am not qualified to go there because I go to better restaurants with better service and better quality of food and attention 😵💫
Before I forget, I'll leave you the prices so you can see how expensive it is and there is no quality.
The discount was for something they gave me in poor condition, which they themselves tested and discounted so you can't say they gave it to me as a gift because my reports are 10000% honest.
If they respond with lies, then I will publish the video of everything that was said and I will publish it on all social networks and here too, since I don't...
Read moreNotes: Firstly, I heard that their dinner menu is better, so I may give them another chance. Secondly, I also heard that the kitchen is a mess after the departure of some of the chefs. I chose lunch over dinner because of the weather. It was nice out and the patio is overlooking the river.
If I were to rate this place based solely on food, it wouldn't be 2 stars, it would barely make it past 1. Here's my breakdown on this extravagant place, located downtown, on the Chicago River. You need to know what to order and not trust the server. For a party of two people, ordered 7 things off the menu for their Sunday lunch menu. Cocktails, ordered a Frose and a Crystal Paloma. The Frose was plain sour and bitter. It was made to be more like a smoothie but it didn't turn out so well. It's definitely an Instagramable drink, but taste wise, not sure if the orange or strawberry that went bad. Moving onto appetizers, ordered two things: Japanese Hamachi and Tuna Taretare. The Hamachi sashimi, mediocre, at best. Once you try it, you'll understand why, there's no "wow" factor to it. Also, the Hamachi had no flavor to it, it was overpowered by the vinegrette and Yuzu soy. Hamachi has a very distinct taste to it, which you should savor and highlight, not cast a shadow over with sauces. The Tuna Taretare was a nightmare in and of itself. The Tuna looked kind of iffy, but it could have been the lighting since it was so bright outside. The saving grace of this dish was the avocado on top and the chips. If you handed me a bowl of the chips instead, I would've preferred that. Also, very clear disclaimer, I absolutely do not like avocado, but in this instance, had it not been there, I would have probably stopped eating it. My friend finished most of it, as he did with most items that we ordered. Moving onto entrees: Spicy Miso Black Cod and Amalfi Lemon Linguine, added shrimp. The first thing I have an issue with is that the pasta doesn't come with any proteins. I can understand that it's a pasta dish and you want to highlight the sauce and hopefully, freshly, made pasta, but the name of the restaurant literally has the word "seafood" in it, I would hope for more. Pasta was fine but kind of heavy towards the end. I could have shown you a picture of the dish before we ate it and then a picture of afterwards. There was a lot of stuff leftover because it just didn't click well towards the bottom of the plate. Nothing bad to say about the Spicy Miso Black Cod. Only feedback about that dish is to pair it with something else aside from fried kale. The dish looked really plain and I wished it came with a side or something to give it some unf. Also had a side of the roasted sweet corn, which was good, but very perplexing to have cloves of garlic in there, instead of having it minced/diced/chopped. Overall, the food experience was definitely not memorable and didn't leave a good impression on me. What left an impression on me was the decor, ambiance and location. They should possibly think of replacing the restaurant with a cafe instead, they'd do more business that way. I only went because: 1) I like Lettuce Entertain You 2) Haven't been since they opened 3) Location 4) I had rewards expiring soon, so the meal was actually almost free. I'm going to just give heed and a fair warning, unless you're willing to pay for overpriced food that barely have any depth in flavor but want the view, go for it. Otherwise, you may be better off just going downstairs to Pizzeria Portofino, which has the same view, just at a lower level and has pizza. I mean, it's kind of really hard to mess that up but who knows. I haven't been there yet and will write a review for them when I...
Read moreMy husband and I recently dined at RPM Seafood for the first time, hoping to indulge in a special evening with a beautiful view. As steak lovers, we were pleased to see that they offered steaks alongside their seafood selection.
We were seated promptly and received our menus right away. After a short time to review the offerings, we ordered the recommended drinks, which, while decent, didn’t stand out as exceptional. About 15 minutes after being seated, we placed our orders for drinks, salad, and dinner, both of us opting for our steaks to be cooked medium well.
Our drinks and salads arrived in a timely manner, but after finishing our salads, we waited approximately 40 minutes without any sign of our steaks. When our waitress finally checked back, I inquired about the status of our steaks and requested bread—though we were informed that everything, including bread, incurs an extra charge. She assured us that the bread would arrive before the steaks.
Another 15 minutes passed, and our waitress returned, visibly surprised that we hadn’t received either the bread or our entrees. She promised to check on them. After a lengthy wait, our steaks arrived along with the bread, but I was frustrated since I had clarified that I didn’t want the bread if it was coming out with the steaks.
Upon cutting into our steaks, we immediately noticed they were overcooked—not the medium well we had ordered. My fork struggled with the first piece, so we both settled for the few bites in the middle. I hoped for a chance to speak to our waitress about the issue, but she didn’t return until nearly 30 minutes after our food was served. When she did check in, my husband simply said our meal was fine, and before I could express my thoughts, she rushed off again.
Despite the upscale atmosphere, with servers in white suits walking around, no one stopped by to ask about our experience. Ultimately, we felt disappointed; we paid over $300 for our dinner, but could barely enjoy it due to the steaks being so tough.
In summary, our experience was overshadowed by slow service and improperly cooked steaks. When you splurge on a nice meal, you expect to be treated well and served high-quality food. Unfortunately, this was the most overcooked steak I’ve ever encountered, especially given its price. I cannot recommend RPM Seafood; save your money and seek a better dining experience elsewhere. I highly doubt they even check their reviews, would be nice to receive a refund on...
