Chicago Sushi Recommendation: Kurumaya π£
Highly recommended by many, including my PhD alumni seniors and friends who've worked in Chicago for years! π΅π€π± Itβs our go-to spot for group dinners β so good it deserves its own post! β Great service, high-quality dishes, and very reasonable prices π Fried Chicken Wings Forgot to take a pic π , but these are absolutely amazing! Crispy outside, juicy inside, full of flavor. $4 for two whole wings β fresh chicken juice drips with every bite. Must eat while hot! π₯ π Monkfish Liver Recommended by a junior β not always available (Iβve never gotten to try it π’). "Ugly fish, but oh so tender liver!" π Sashimi Bowl High value and always fresh fish! π₯ Yellowtail Cheek (Grilled) The neck is fatty, so itβs incredibly tender when grilled. Yellowtail itself is a premium fish. So good I forgot to take a photo β next time! π π± Sushi Sets Three options: Pine, Bamboo, Plum β different sushi counts with small rolls. Pictured is "Bamboo" β 7 pieces for $20, delicious and fresh! π± Unagi Don (Eel Rice Bowl) Tasty and generous portion! π Takoyaki We all loved it! Crispy outside, tender inside, with big octopus pieces β perfectly cooked! π’ Yakitori Lightly seasoned β you can ask for sauce. Grilled chicken skin and chicken meat are great. Friends also love the pork belly β says it has that Kurobuta aroma! π₯© Steak Ordered medium β tender and juicy. Cooked with sweet onions β so fragrant! π Sashimi Mori (Assorted Sashimi Platter) Around $23 β includes salmon, yellowtail, tuna, snapperβ¦ several slices each, always top quality. π΅ Green Tea Their brewed green tea is lovely β much more to my taste than the bitter matchy broth at Chicagoβs Gyu-Kaku π π A solid, reliable, and delicious choice for Japanese food in Chicago! #ChicagoSushi #Kurumaya #ChicagoEats #JapaneseFood #SushiLovers #AffordableLuxury
