Chicago Vibe: Chicago Cut Steakhouse 🥩

We ordered a Bone-in Prime Rib (32oz), medium, with Truffled Scalloped Potatoes on the side, and a chocolate cake for dessert. First thing to note — I thought this place was just pricey, but I didn’t expect the portions to be this massive… The photos show what we got after the server split everything in half for us — each portion was still the size of a typical Italian dessert plate. Moral of the story: either bring more people, or order way less. We were so stuffed and greased out by the end we couldn’t even finish. Service was absolutely worth the price. The water guy refilled diligently — and filled to the brim every time. The server assigned to our table was always available but never intrusive. Different utensils for appetizers, mains, and then a full table reset + new fork before dessert. The main course presentation was so grand it made us uncomfortable: 5+ people set up a side table beside us and surgically split our steak and sides in record time. (I laughed internally — appreciated the respect for women, but I was definitely transferring half back to 🧑🏻‍🦱.) 🥩 Bone-in Prime Rib – Probably their signature. Not your typical seared steak — it’s slow-roasted, so the texture is more like braised/roasted beef — super tender. We ordered medium, and the server said that’s pretty much how it comes out. The photos look redder than it actually was — doneness was just right; any more and it would’ve been dry. Overall, good texture — fatty and lean, especially the meat near the bone was soft . If it weren’t for appearances, I’d have picked it up and gnawed on it 😂 Downside: lacks that juicy, seared steak flavor and aroma. Pretty mild on seasoning, and the sauces didn’t really help. 🥔 Truffled Scalloped Potatoes – Potato + bacon + cheese pie, with truffle aroma. Portion huge but way too salty and greasy. 🧑🏻‍🦱 barely touched it. Kinda regret ordering this. 🍫 Chocolate Cake – As chocolate cakes go, this was solid. Top layer with crispy rice for texture, cake itself moist and rich. Strawberries + jam on the side helped cut through the richness. Overall: Prime downtown location, right on the Chicago River, amazing service. The food might not be top-tier, but for a taste of Chicago vibe — solid choice! #ChicagoEats #Steakhouse #RiverView #ChicagoCut #FineDining #DateNight 🥩🌆
