Chicago Winter Dining Diary ❄️
Aspiring to become a true Chicago foodie, even during the Christmas and New Year season, I’ve been tasting dishes from around the world. Here are some recently tried spots that really stood out! ❄️ TO SOC CHON Craving Korean blood sausage (sundae), I randomly picked this cozy, grandmother-run Korean spot on the map — and it did not disappoint! My mouth is still watering just thinking about it 🤤 ❄️ Phoenix Restaurant I’ve posted about this place so many times — truly one of my favorites (see my top Cantonese food ranking pinned on my page!). Too lazy to go out in the cold, so I ordered via Fantuan. Got the dry-fried Yi noodles, pan-fried pork buns, and salted egg yolk scallops — familiar flavors that just feel like comfort 😌 ❄️ Akiro Hand Roll Bar Seems to be a chain specializing in hand rolls. The interior is top-notch, service is great — gives off an upscale sushi vibe, but prices are actually super reasonable! Hand rolls are big and filling, so under $50 you can eat very well 🍣 (Tip: If you want to share a hand roll, you can ask the chef to cut it in half!) ❄️ Pho Nam Lua Recommended by a Vietnamese friend who swears by its authenticity. Ordered the signature short rib pho — comes with two huge beef ribs! The broth is rich, meat is tender, and a whole bowl warms you right up 🍜. The owner is really into art, so the walls are covered with his own paintings and pieces collected from around the world 🖼️ #WinterEats #EatWell #FantuanDelivers #Fantuan11Years #ChicagoFoodie #StudentEats
