Day Trip Guide to Isola Bella Near Milan 🌅
📍 Milan Central Station—Stresa Station (Approximately €8.6, fast train takes about an hour and ten minutes) After arriving, walk towards the dock for about ten minutes. Location: Piazza Marconi Once you arrive, you'll see several small docks with boats from different companies heading to the islands. I purchased tickets for both islands and round-trip boat tickets online the night before, so I could board directly! 🚢 I chose to visit Isola Bella. Isola Bella Entrance Hours: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Palace closes at 5:30 PM, Gardens close at 6:00 PM) Plan your time accordingly! I also bought my boat ticket 🎫 for the trip from Stresa to Isola Bella. 🔺 Isola Bella is stunning! Built in 1670, the Duke of Borromeo commissioned a palace here for his wife Isabella, naming the island after her. Initially, there were only a few small wooden houses 🏡. Duke Borromeo III hired architect Carlevalli to design the magnificent palace and gardens 🦚. Napoleon also spent a melancholic period here during his downfall. You can stroll around for about 2 hours, as the island is filled with gardens and the palace, with gardens occupying most of the space. The Baroque-style gardens are home to proud white peacocks, and there are a few restaurants by the dock for lunch. #IsolaBella #Italy #MilanWeekendGetaways #MilanDayTrip #MilanSurroundings #BellaIsland #SummerOutfits #DayTripNearMilan #Baroque #TravelMemories
