Delicious Food in San Antonio
1️⃣ Iron Cactus My friend and I walked in around 8:30 PM on our first day – personally, this was the best meal we had in three days.🍒🍒 ✨ We ordered seafood paella 🥘, lobster tacos, and Angus steak. The complimentary tortilla chips here come with freshly made dips – one meat sauce and one spicy sauce. ☕☕ They’re warm, spicy, and super appetizing! The seafood paella is a bit different from Puerto Rican-style paella; it’s more Southwest-inspired, with a sauce that’s rich in tomato (a total win for tomato lovers!), and it’s packed with seafood too. The tacos are the best I’ve ever had – even better than the ones I tried at Raíces in Puerto Rico. The lobster is topped with a savory sauce and gooey cheese 😊🍟🍟 2️⃣ Boudro‘s A popular spot with great reviews on Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book) – reservations are required in advance.🍦 🍉🍉We ordered blackened prime ribs, quail, and coconut shrimp. Overall, the ambiance and flavor were great. The quail was a little overcooked, but it was still juicy, and the side dishes were delicious. The prime ribs were huge, and they tasted amazing with butter, though the potatoes were a bit hard and under-seasoned. 🌷 🌿🌿The coconut shrimp was a letdown – it was too oily, made by coating shrimp in coconut flakes and frying them. It had a weird, neither sweet nor salty taste. But the service and atmosphere were absolutely fantastic! 3️⃣ La Panadería ☘️ A Mexican-style brunch spot – there’s a line even on weekdays. We arrived at 12 PM and waited about 20 minutes.🌳🌳 We ordered eggs Benedict and an al pastor sandwich. The eggs Benedict was very generous – both poached eggs had runny yolks. Paired with crispy chicken, crunchy bread, and a savory-spicy sauce, it had a rich, layered texture. The al pastor sandwich was filled with small pieces of grilled pork loin and grilled pineapple – it tasted a bit like a Mexican-style rougamo (Chinese braised pork burger)? 4️⃣ Tokyo Cowboy A fusion restaurant recommended by the hotel front desk – reservations are required. It feels more like a whiskey bar… 🤨 I wouldn’t recommend anything other than the krab & crab roll and shrimp noodles. These two dishes were the only ones with rich, satisfying flavors. The dumplings and fried chicken nuggets are good for pairing with drinks but just “okay” in terms of taste.🍵🍵 #Texas #SanAntonio #WhatToEatToday #RestaurantRecommendation #UnforgettableFoodExperience #HiddenGemRestaurant#Albany
