Dolceacqua, the European Castle Immortalized by Monet π°πΌοΈ
π° Tucked away at the border between Italy and Southern France, there's a quaint town called Dolceacqua, which translates to Sweet Water Town. This area was once part of the Republic of Genoa, with the mountains harboring numerous castles and towns left over from Roman times. π | It's about half an hour's drive from Monaco, and there's free parking on the other side of the river below the castle. π« | There's no admission fee to visit the castle. Inside, there are many small shops with artists' works to browse. It takes about an hour or so to walk around. π₯£ | We didn't find any great places to eat near the shops, so we just grabbed a quick bite to tide us over, planning to indulge in a feast back in San Remo for dinner. π· | We heard that the wines here are quite famous, but we only learned about it after we returned, so we didn't buy any. Friends who plan to go can do some research beforehand~ γπΈ Photography Guideγ β Before crossing the bridge, there's a sign indicating Monet's perspective from back in the day. β From the top of the castle, you can overlook the entire ancient village. β This is a true European ancient town, and the ancient Roman architectural style is quite suitable for outdoor photography. β The streets in the old town are quite narrow, so a long lens might not be very effective. It's recommended to use a lens with a focal length of 50mm or less. #TravelTheWorld #CulturalAttractionSharing #MyDiary #HistoricalArchitecture #Italy
