Empty Bottle — Cat Boss Peg’s Hidden Gem 🐱
As a longtime resident of Ukrainian Village, I’ve been a loyal fan of Pizza Friendly Pizza for ages. But I recently discovered that you can actually order PFP pizzas right next door at the Empty Bottle bar! 🍕 Pizza Friendly Pizza is a secret square-pizza spot tucked in the back alley, run by Noah Sandoval — the chef behind Michelin-starred Oriole. They specialize in Sicilian-style square pies with creative toppings like pork & fig, miso mushroom, and even pasta meatballs (yes, that’s a topping!). Summer is the best time to visit — you can relax in their backyard and savor every slice. 🍸 Empty Bottle, right next door, is a cozy bar that doubles as an intimate music venue with occasional live shows. The drinks are simple and affordable — nothing fancy, so I’d definitely recommend coming more for the pizza than the cocktails. 🐾 But the real highlight is meeting the cat boss, Peg! She’s a friendly yet slightly sassy lady who likes to hang out on the bar counter. She’ll let customers pet her for ages — only giving a gentle pretend nip if she’s had enough. Super adorable! 😻 That day, I ordered the miso mushroom pizza and the brunch pizza (with potato, scrambled eggs, bacon, and chives) — both were absolutely delicious. Even Peg seemed curious about a bite! Highly recommended for pizza lovers and cat enthusiasts alike — come support Peg’s snack fund! 🐈💖 Empty Bottle: 1035 N Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60622 #ChicagoLife #Chicago #HiddenGem #WeekendEats #ExploreChicago #PizzaLover #ChicagoEats
