Everyone in Monterey, go eat at this place!

I’ll be upset if anyone in Monterey hasn’t tried this spot. Monterey food scene—how is no one recommending this restaurant? We ordered salmon sashimi, shrimp tempura udon, fried calamari, fish roe rice bowl, and sukiyaki steak for kids. The total was just over $100, and every dish was amazing! The service was great too, and the restaurant had lively drum music playing the whole time—such a fun vibe. 🥁 That fish roe rice bowl was mind-blowing—I’ll be upset if you don’t order it!! 🤯 It wasn’t fishy at all, and it came in a piping hot pot. When they poured the sauce over, it sizzled and formed tons of crispy rice crust. There were so many types of roe—I didn’t recognize half of them, including a green one I’d never tasted before. Mixing them all together, every bite popped and crackled in my mouth like little fireworks—such a (novel) texture! It’s a mix of happiness, satisfaction, and wonder—so fun and delicious. The restaurant is right behind the sea otter “hangout spot”—if you get a window seat at the back, you can watch them! Sadly, we didn’t get a window table this time. 😢 We’re definitely coming back!
