Found Mini Pan-Fried Buns in Chicago Suburbs π₯
Life in the Chicago suburbs is looking up! Found a spot serving mini pan-fried buns bubble tea β the perfect eat-and-walk combo (just a bit behind the trend compared to China π ). π₯ Mini Pan-Fried Buns β Skin was a bit firm, and since theyβre soaked in sweet-sour vinegar sauce, not super crispy. But still addictive β finished them in no time. π₯ Veggie Steamed Dumplings β Ordered for my mom. She said the filling was more like veggie paste than fresh veggies. π₯ Soup Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao) β Skin slightly thick, but soup inside was plentiful and authentic. Wanted crab roe XLBs, but they were out β pork version was sweet and oily in a good way. π₯ Beef Noodles β Dad ordered these. Noodles were yellow but not like alkaline noodles. π₯ Side dish (cucumber) β Sadly wilted, no crunch left. Overall: Buns and soup dumplings were decent. Main advantage is the location β perfect after a trip to the Botanic Garden. Itβs called βSerious Sanjiβ β not the most serious, but solid enough. π Serious Sanji Asian Cuisine & Bubble Tea 794 Skokie Blvd, Northbrook, IL 60062 #SummerFoodieCat π± #ChicagoLife #ExploreChicago #ChicagoEats #Chicago
