I truly wanted to love this place, which makes writing this review a bit disappointing, but I believe in being honest and fair. My fiancé and I live in Northbrook and were genuinely excited to see a new Asian restaurant open so close to home. We ordered the shrimp fried rice, pork bun, and wonton soup $44 plus tip eager for a great first experience.
Unfortunately, the food fell far below expectations. The fried rice had a burnt taste and came with only four shrimp. The pork bun lacked depth of flavor, and the wonton soup, which also only included four dumplings, just didn’t deliver in taste or richness. For the price, we hoped for something more satisfying.
That said, the service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and clearly knowledgeable about the menu, which made the experience more pleasant despite the food itself missing the mark. I understand that every kitchen has off moments, so I’m willing to give it another try, because believe me, I want this to become a neighborhood favorite. I live within walking distance, and having great Asian cuisine nearby would be a dream.
Here’s hoping the next visit tells a...

We walked in at 11:30 for lunch and they weren’t really ready for business - still a lot of items were not ready to be served like pot stickers and soup dumplings, including some of the meat dim sums.
The inside felt like a takeout place rather than a sit-down restaurant. The waiting staff weren’t paying attention. I was trying to grab their attention for 5 minutes and it was a struggle.
We ordered the followings: portion size is quite small here shrimp rolls: tiniest shrimps inside. Will never order again pork sanji: just ok. Very doughy. Meh spicy beef noodle soup: the best out of things we ordered. Not saying it’s good though. Given the price of nearly $20, this had to be better than other things. pork bun: the meat inside was super dry and super chewy. Gah. Will never order again. boba tea: small portion. It was almost $8 and I would rather go to Gong Cha.
Everything came a tad under $65 for lunch and I am hungry at 3:30pm. If you add tip to it, almost 80. I would probably never come back here again. The food was nothing impressive and...
Read moreStarted off optimistic, only to be SERIOUSly disappointed... Now I'm not the type to write food reviews, but if you are looking to find AUTHENTIC "Asian" Cuisine, turn around. Charging 10 dollars for a sorry portion of Dan Dan noodles that is basically a kids portion is outright criminal (we returned it). Beef Sanji, the bun to meat ratio is quite disappointing. They're known to be quite filled with a juicy interior and a really crispy bottom. Literally no meat to be found, so we just filled the void with red vinegar and soy sauce instead. Pork soup dumplings were a bit gamey as well, and a bowl and soup spoon were not provided for the soup inside the dumplings which can lead to a messy experience (I personally think this should be a given..) . The golden lava buns were probably the best out of all the items we had purchased. Atmosphere and interior were nice. Overall though, quite the...
