Harrisburg ❄️➕ Allentown 🔔
As the capital of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg feels a bit quiet and lonely—I hardly saw any Asian faces around, so I received many kind and curious glances ❤️. I arrived just in time to see the Riverfront Park covered in thick ice and snow, with clouds and snow blending into a dreamy view ☁️❄️. Sitting in the church in front of the City Hall, I watched light stream through the skylight, casting soft shadows. A young man was praying on the left side—time seemed to stand still, yet also flow gently. In that moment, nothing else mattered. Nearby lies Hershey’s Chocolate World—a chocolate lover’s dream! 🍫 You can tour the chocolate factory for free, hop on a small train to see how chocolate is made, and even get a free chocolate bar! Inside, there’s also a little garden where real cacao trees grow 🌳. I shared this with friends back home, and it turned out they had just finished reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We were struck by how, though miles apart, we were connected through the same story and sweetness—truly “Across mountains and oceans, we share the same moon and sky.” 🌍✨ Another surprise was Allentown—a city I’d never heard of before, only to later learn it’s one of the world’s top retirement destinations 🏙️👴👵. Although the Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum was closed that day, I met its elegant and kind director who gifted me a warm hug and a commemorative bell 🔔❤️. #Pennsylvania #Harrisburg #Allentown #HersheysChocolate
