Hide+Seek — Chicago’s New Mediterranean Spot in West Loop 🍴

Hide+Seek is a recently opened Mediterranean-inspired restaurant in West Loop, blending Spanish, Italian, and French influences into a modern American menu. 🧀 Burrata with roasted apricots and chermoula (North African herb sauce) on sourdough — unlike any other version in Chicago, and absolutely delicious. 🐌 Snail puff pastry soup — the flaky crust shattered beautifully (I even filmed it!). Soaked in the broth with snails, it was rich and satisfying. 🥩 American Wagyu short rib with mashed potatoes and pickled watermelon — solid and flavorful, though less standout compared to other dishes. 🍝 Lumache pasta with sausage, vodka sauce, and herbed ricotta — every bite was saucy and decadent. Even the leftover sausage was soaked in flavor. 🥥 Malabi (Middle Eastern coconut milk pudding) soaked in rose water, topped with rose-marinated pistachios — light, floral, and not too sweet. For a new restaurant, nothing we tried was a miss — impressive! We dined on the first floor, which feels trendy and photogenic. Next time, I’d love to check out the second floor.
