Disclaimer: I was upset shortly after being seated, so my overall experience was bad, regardless. Your mood, at least mine, plays a big role in how food tastes. The atmosphere of the place was very interesting. The interior looked nice but the music didn't match the overall vibe. The service was neither good nor bad. Runners/bussers were confused and kept coming over trying to switch out plates, but we still had food. Our server, was, for the most part, very nice; however, again, I was upset so their service didn't even matter to me. The overall food was just meh, mediocre at best. Due to some "clerical" issues, our server sent us an appetizer, on the house; Grilled Oysters. I have reservations about grilled oysters, because I feel like they're generally cooked, instead of being served raw, when they're nearing their shelf life. Aside from my own preconceived conceptions about that, the dish itself was salty and didn't leave a good impression. The next item was the Burrata was good/fine. Can't really mess burrata up. Brussel Sprouts were decent, but a bit too mushy. I would have preferred them to be more crisp for better texture. The PEI (Prince Edward Island) Mussels were bad. I only ate a few and tried my best to enjoy it but had to stop and allow the rest of my party to finish it. The reason why it was bad was because they didn't cook the white wine long enough. There was a very apparent bitter taste. The frites (fries) that accompanied the mussels were so much better. I would've preferred just getting a few orders of that instead. Onto the entrees: Braised Short Rib and Spanish Octopus. The Braised Short Rib was a very generous portion size; however, was quite dry. There wasn't sufficient sauce/liquid to accompany the dish. The only saving grace was that it was fork tender. The Spanish Octopus was good, not great. It was cooked to perfection but lacked a punch to leave me saying "wow". To end things out, dessert, which was Brownie a la Mode, was fine. Again, nothing special and you can't really mess up a dessert that basically consists of just a brownie with ice cream on top. Needless to say, my overall experience does not warrant a second visit, on my dime, at the very least. Had my mood been different, I could of very much enjoyed...

Unfortunately we had a terrible recent experience at this place on Sunday April 7th. We went for brunch at 1:45 for our reservation and were seated right away and ordered our food and drinks that took over an hour to get to our table. People seated after us were served before us and we asked the server multiple times were are drinks were and then the food. The server said that our steak takes longer to cook however, we ordered medium rare steaks with our eggs and it does not take that long to cook, especially when the table next to us also ordered steak and eggs and was served before us somehow? Another person in our group also ordered the French toast and that came last after everyone else was already served and waiting for her. Again breakfast food should not take this long especially when there was absolutely nothing special about it and the place was NOT busy and half empty. Once we did finally receive our food, it was the nastiest most bland breakfast food we’ve ever had and overpriced on top of it all! The steak was wayyy over cooked and dry, under seasoned and the hashbrown and eggs didn’t even have salt on them or any other seasonings or sauces available. Breakfast food really is not that hard to mess up, yet this place did and we’re pretty sure the waiter also forgot to put our order in from the beginning. He was also unapologetic and didn’t even say thank you or goodbye or anything as we were leaving. We were visibly upset and would have asked to speak to a manger had we not been on a time crunch. I would not recommend this place to anyone and suggest spending your money elsewhere. The decor is decent here but that’s about the only good thing. This place will not survive in the West Loop, where there are so many other better bars and restaurants to go to instead. I would believe that this place closes entirely by the end of the year to be completely honest. It’s sad but a better place can easily replace them and again, go literally anywhere else within walking distance from Hide+Seek and...

Came in on a Wednesday evening. There weren’t many people there. The decor inside and the vibe looks welcoming, but with it being empty inside the vibe wasn’t there. They had club music on but it was turned down very low, so what’s the point? I bet it gets busy on the weekends when they have a DJ. We sat and our server came to the table and immediately asked what we wanted to drink. He didn’t introduce himself until my friend was like “what’s your name?” He then said Matt or Matty. We ordered the drinks which were good and then ordered our food. He did give us a good rundown on the menu and was very detailed. Keep in mind the menu is very limited. The vodka pasta was very very good, but yes this place is overpriced. My friend had the sticky ribs and said the berry sauce that goes with it wasn’t complimentary. The food is nothing over the moon, but it is tasty. When it came time for the bill he asked if it was one tab. We said okay that’s fine and he said did you want me to split it three ways, and we said if that was easier then sure. He said he’s not suppose to offer it but he will do it. We weren’t the ones who brought it up so we were confused a bit.. He splits it on the handheld reader and we all pay a high amount which we believe to not be correct. He walks away and we call him back to get a final bill so we can take a look. He says okay and then goes back to the bar and talks and doesn’t bring it. My friend flags him down and tells him if we can again, have the final bill. He said “well you already paid” and we were like yes we know that we want to have a hard copy of the bill. He walks away back to the bar and talks again. At that point with our suspicion of paying the wrong amount, and with him not wanting to bring us the bill, we all were very turned off. As if they were doing some shady things. He finally comes back with the bill. It only had one of our payments on it. We gave up and left. The service was alright, the food was wonderful, and the vibe has potential but honestly I probably...
