Highly Recommend!! Hidden Gem Korean Restaurant in Chicago

Last weekend, my girlfriend and I discovered this amazing but lesser-known Korean spot — TO SOC CHON, located northwest of Chicago, northeast of ORD. It’s probably not widely shared online because of its far-out location, but it’s seriously delicious! This place specializes in sundae (blood sausage) and various soups. The menu is small compared to other Korean restaurants, but every dish is concentrated excellence! First off — their side dishes (banchan) are incredibly authentic! Only three kinds: pickled cucumber, kimchi, and pickled radish, but each one is soul-hitting good. The kimchi has the perfect balance of spice and tang — no overwhelming heat or sourness, with a subtle sweet aftertaste. Honestly top 3 kimchi I’ve had in the U.S.! The radish is super crispy and perfect with rice. The cucumber was great too — just didn’t eat as much of it 😄. We ordered two soups: 🍖 Pork & Pork Stomach Soup 🍲 Sundae & Pork Spine Soup The pork stomach soup was light and savory (you can add salt to taste). The stomach was tender with zero gaminess. The spine soup was next-level — the portion of meat was huge, and the spice level was just right. So comforting and perfect over rice — my girlfriend, who rarely eats plain rice, finished a whole bowl! It was my first time trying sundae (blood sausage) — no weird taste at all. We loved dipping it into the pork stomach soup — soaking up all that broth made it incredible. 💰 Best part: the value is insane! Perfect for two people — only $20–25 per person for a seriously filling meal. #Chicago #ChicagoLife #ChicagoEats #KoreanFoodChicago #ChicagoRestaurants #StudyAbroad
