Milan's Hidden Gem Museum: Fondazione Luigi Rovati ๐๏ธโจ
This is a private museum located in a 19th-century building near the Porta Venezia, overlooking a garden where ancient and contemporary art coexist. ๐ผ๐จ After the foundation purchased the building in 2016, they commissioned a renovation project led by architect Mario Cucinella and his MCA studio, aiming to meet the foundation's needs for modern museum spaces while preserving the historical faรงade. ๐๏ธ๐ฟ The exhibition route begins in the underground space designed by Mario Cucinella, inspired by Etruscan tombs, featuring winding walls made of thirty thousand blocks of Florentine stone. ๐บ๐ฟ Every element of the exhibition design has been carefully conceived to become a part of the narrative, creating an immersive experience through a blend of history, archaeology, and design, enhanced by digital technology. Visitors can immerse themselves under three domes, exploring the Etruscan collections displayed in large showcases. ๐ผ๏ธ๐ซ Moving from the underground space to the first floor of the building, visitors re-enter this 19th-century-style structure. ๐ฐโจ Restored, the ancient furniture, mirrors, parquet floors, and gilded doors look renewed. In these rooms, the dialogue between Etruscan artifacts and contemporary works becomes even more vivid. ๐๐ช All the rooms have a striking color impact; for instance, in Sala Ontani, contemporary art pieces hang against pink walls, while the central design table showcases Etruscan treasures. My favorite is Sala Azzurra, with soft lake-blue walls and various excavated vessels displayed in cabinets. In these rooms, the conversation between Etruscan art and contemporary art continues. ๐๐๏ธ #RecorderOfRomanticLife #WeekendGetaway #Art #Milan #ArtResidency #ArtGallery #Exhibition #ArtistsFromTheStars #Aesthetics #EnhanceAesthetics #365DaysOfAestheticAccumulation #Design #Museum #ArtSpace #Gallery #DocumentingLife #ItalianMuseum #MustVisitMuseum #ArchitecturalDesign #MilanLife #ItalianArt
