Milan | The Right Way To Experience Chinatown 🏮

Milan’s Chinatown has evolved so much over the past few years — gone are the days of basic bubble tea and powder-mix drinks! Nowadays, it’s keeping up with food trends straight from China. With so many options… let me help you navigate what’s worth trying and what to skip! 🍳 Breakfast ✅ Mu Paolo Skip Tang Ji for baozi and shengjian — that’s where the tourists go. Mu Paolo’s roast duck shengjian is a must-order! ✅ Jun Tai Breakfast Shop While many on Xiaohongshu recommend Wenzhou, I find it pretty average with limited options. Jun Tai gives off authentic Chinese breakfast vibes — congee, pickles, steamed buns, huajuan… and you can even order from your seat. Highly recommend the savory douhua (tofu pudding)🌟. 🧋 Drinks ✅ SuliSuli A newly opened spot with strong tea flavors and light bites. Also a great place to study or relax! Try the Longjing Zishi Snow. ✅ Foodie When I first moved to Milan, everyone told me this was the place for good milk tea. Nice atmosphere too. ✅ Lanji Lanji wins on affordability — €5.5 for 1L of lemon tea! 🍢 Snacks ✅ Xijie Chuan Clean and tidy, though a bit pricey. More variety than Chuanshuo 🥓, but sometimes there’s a line. Kua Fu wasn’t great either — at least the day I went, the chicken skin was overcooked (maybe the owner was having a bad day?). ✅ Xue Bao A bit expensive, but seriously delicious. Their shaved ice is made with milk 🥛. ✅ San Cha Their cream puffs 🧁 are the best in Milan — super high quality. Check my profile for a full review. ✅ Foodie The matcha ice cream egg waffle 🍨 uses great batter — chewy, stretchy, almost like mochi 🫕. The matcha 🍵 is rich and bitter in the best way. 🥢 Chinese Restaurants ✅ Mao Zao Solid for all-you-can-eat. The selection is huge — hotpot, snacks, desserts, skewers… Must-tries: fried eggs, beef tendon, fatty intestine, cilantro beef, and sweet potato noodles! Chongqing Mama’s AYCE hotpot doesn’t compare. ✅ Dongbei Jiaozi Guan Cheap and large portions, but flavor is just okay. ✅ Ru Jia The place for mao xue zi (spicy blood curd with duck) 🥘. Other dishes are a bit small but tasty. Their koushui ji (mouth-watering chicken) 🌟 is a winner. 🍸 Bars ✅ Cosmo Studio Creative cocktails with interesting flavors. The strawberry cream cocktail 🍓 and the lychee one are both great. ✅ Kingstone Love the chill, laid-back camping-themed decor 🏕️ — super relaxing. They also serve tea 🍵. #RestaurantRecommendations #Milan #Italy #Food #Drinks #Dessert #Snacks
