At the 2024 Bulthaup Milan Furniture Exhibition, located in the beautiful Brera Academy, one of Italy's most important public institutions for art and cultural education, right in the historic center of Milan. 🇮🇹✨ 😄 While enjoying the furniture exhibition, we also took the opportunity to visit and learn about this famous architectural complex. 🎨 The Brera Academy is situated within the Palazzo Brera, a stunning Baroque-style building founded by Queen Maria Theresa. Initially established as a high-level art education center, this magnificent complex also houses the Pinacoteca di Brera, which holds many significant Renaissance and other historical artworks. Palazzo Brera is not just an educational institution; it is a work of art in itself. The interior is richly decorated with exquisite sculptures and frescoes, creating a solemn yet classical atmosphere that is truly unforgettable. 🤩 Can you guess who the statue in the courtyard represents? That's right, it features an "N"—the initials of Napoléon! This iconic statue depicts Napoleon I in the guise of a Roman Emperor, designed by the Italian sculptor Antonio Canova, one of the most renowned artists of the Napoleonic era, known for his exquisite Neoclassical works. 👑 The statue of Napoleon is a crucial part of the historical and cultural space of Palazzo Brera, offering visitors visual and intellectual elements closely related to European history. ⚜️ Napoleon had a profound impact on Northern Italy and all of Europe.
