Museum | Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan 🏛️✨

There's a shade of green in Milan that I like to call Necchi Green 🌿. Villa Necchi Campiglio is a historic residence (house museum) located at 14 Via Mozart, Milan. Built between 1932 and 1935, this standalone villa was designed by the prominent rationalist architect Piero Portaluppi and is surrounded by a large private garden featuring a tennis court and swimming pool. 🎾🏊‍♀️ This was the second swimming pool built in Milan after the municipal one and the first to be constructed on private land! 🏡 Although the villa is close to the city center, the area was primarily occupied by private gardens and orchards until the late 19th century. Construction began in 1890-92, and the house was envisioned as an elegant and comfortable residence with modern amenities, including an elevator, lifts, intercoms, telephones, and a heated swimming pool. Starting in 1938, the Necchi Campiglio family hired architect Tomaso Buzzi to redesign the façade over the next 20 years, along with updating the furnishings of some rooms, which were inspired by 18th-century art, contrasting with Portaluppi's original minimalist style. 🎨🛋️ Tickets 🎫: The garden is free to visit, but you need a ticket to enter the building. 👩‍🎓 Students: €9 💁‍♀️ General Admission: €15 Opening Hours 📅: Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. #Museum #Milan #MilanDesignWeek #Art #InteriorDesign #ArchitectureDesign #ArtExhibition
