Must-Visit in the US|Art Institute of Chicago (AIC) 🎨
The Art Institute of Chicago is one of the top art museums in the United States, with an incredibly rich collection spanning various periods and genres. If you’re visiting Chicago and have one or two days to immerse yourself in art, this is an absolute must-see destination 🏛️. The museum is enormous—I spent almost a full day there at a semi-rushed pace (slowing down for recognized and masterworks), and it still felt a bit hurried. I’d highly recommend setting aside two days to fully appreciate everything. 📸 Some of my favorite pieces: The photography section on the lower level was a highlight for me 📷. A delightful surprise was the exhibition of miniature room models, beautifully recreating architectural and interior styles popular in different eras across Europe, America, and parts of Asia 🏠✨. The first and second floors feature Japanese and Korean paintings, Chinese artifacts, and ancient Greek sculptures 🖼️🏺. Upstairs, you’ll find oil paintings from various periods, including iconic works by famous artists like Van Gogh, Gauguin, Picasso, Monet, Mondrian, Andy Warhol, Cindy Sherman, and more 🎭🧑🎨. It was my first time seeing so many masterpieces up close. Standing before the cracked textures of the paintings felt like a conversation across time and space with the artists themselves 💬🕰️. 🕒 Hours: Mon/Fri/Sat/Sun: 11 AM–5 PM Thu: 11 AM–8 PM Tue/Wed: Closed 🎫 Admission: $32 for adults 📍 Address: 111 S Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60603 #ArtInstituteOfChicago #MuseumGuide #ChicagoLife #MonetWaterLilies #VanGogh
