New Evanston Spot: Mira Sushi Buffet Quick Guide 🍣

The old Lao Sze Chuan location is now Mira Sushi! Dinner buffet: $31 per person. The sushi nigiri and rolls aren’t overloaded with rice, which is nice. Another plus: each roll you order comes with 4 pieces of sashimi, so you don’t have to order extra nigiri for raw fish—good deal! Nigiri recommendations: Salmon, seared salmon, and eel sushi.😘 The salmon quality is decent, and searing makes it even tastier. Since all nigiri come with teriyaki sauce, seared salmon and eel work best. Tuna might seem like better value, but the quality isn’t great—skip if you’re picky.👌😘 Squid is okay; scallop and surf clam are not worth ordering.🙌😁 Sushi rolls: Again, go for salmon, eel, or fully cooked rolls (shrimp tempura, avocado, crab stick, etc.). The flavors are pretty good—sweet, savory, classic American-style sushi—definitely better than grocery store or dining hall sushi. At $30, getting two rolls plus the included sashimi basically makes it worth the price.💕👌 Overall: Solid value buffet. Quality is just okay but not a rip-off. Spacious, good service, likely to be popular with Americans. Great for sushi lovers who aren’t big on raw fish—and even better value at lunch! #Evanston #ChicagoEats #NorthwesternUniversity #StudentLife 🍱🏫✨
